Robin “Larry” Yeandle
Robin “Larry” Yeandle is the production manager at the Morrinsville premises. He traces his meat industry roots back to the days when the plant was owned by South Pacific Meats which then became Waikato Beef Packers and finally Greenlea. His first job was loading Korean ¼ beef carcasses from the chillers into shipping containers. In 1997 he was transferred to the boning room where he worked for several years before being made a supervisor.
When not at work Larry spends time with his partner, Kerry, and his three kids. Like many New Zealand families, kids’ sports take up a large majority of after school and weekend time. Currently, Kieran, age 16, is into rugby; son Nathan, 14, is taking on motocross and daughter, Abby, age 10, appears to be a budding cross country athletics star!
Larry has a tremendous respect for the Greenlea culture. He says Greenlea is “a good place to work” and their respect for their employees is evident in everything they do.
Melina has worked for Greenlea since 2007. As our export documentation supervisor, she leads and supports a team of three in the intricate and detailed requirements of preparing all necessary documents for an export order. She and her team work closely with the Ministry for Primary Industries, the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, NZ Customs, the New Zealand Meat Board and our Approved Halal Organisations as well as various shipping lines to maintain a superior working relationship. Her team ensures that export documents are accurate and timely … attention to detail where it counts for our all valued customers.
Melina enjoys being a valued member of the Greenlea “family” … great people with a great team spirit. When not at Greenlea, Mel enjoys time spent with her husband and young son. She especially loves New Zealand summers camping and water skiing … and of course, a Greenlea ribeye on the barbeque!
Pompi began his career at Greenlea in 1994 when the company had only just begun (1993). He can be defined by his attention to detail, his consistency and his gentle nature. While shy and unassuming, he is an integral part of the operations team keeping the basement and outside areas orderly and tidy while also operating the outside forklift to keep things moving.
According to Aaron Craig, Greenlea’s plant manager, “Pompi, and others like Pompi, are the true heart and soul of Greenlea. For over 20 years, Pompi’s dedication, reliability and commitment to excellence have been and continue to be second to none. Without a doubt, these are the people who make my job a satisfying and enjoyable one.”
Pompi’s two daughters are successful sports women. His elder daughter has played sport around the world and is currently in the Cook Islands playing rugby.
