Our beef is grass-fed and 100 percent pasture-raised, which is simply how we do it here in New Zealand. Raised in a relaxed and natural setting, our cattle freely wander and graze throughout the year as they naturally should. We are among the lowest global users of antibiotics, and we are proud to say all Greenlea beef is hormone and antibiotic-free. We are famous for our beef being rich in taste, texture and flavourfully nutritious, featuring on menus around the world as the premium choice.

Quite frankly, we’re not here to mess around. Grass-fed red meat is leaner and has higher percentages of desirable fatty acids when compared to grain-fed. We use rotational grazing, which is believed to be one of the most sustainable ways to farm and ensures cattle have constant access to fresh grass and water. Our climate here in New Zealand makes for extremely healthy soil and luscious pastures, and as our water is predominantly green water, which comes from rainfall, it means we keep our soil moist and our grass green and juicy. The carbon footprint of cattle farming in New Zealand is estimated to be half the average figure globally.

All of our beef is grass-fed and 100% pasture raised... which is something you have probably heard many times purchasing New Zealand meat, but what does it really mean?

Grass-fed red meat has been shown to be leaner and have higher percentages of the desirable fatty acids when compared to grain fed. And we ensure that our meat is sourced from animals that are guaranteed hormone and antibiotic free. We also ensure that our meat is properly aged to perfection to guarantee tenderness.

Being 100% grass-fed also means our animals are able to roam free all year round on luscious New Zealand pastures, making for a happier and more relaxed environment.
