Prices continue to push higher in the US market driven by low stock levels and  higher than expected demand.  Very high pork trimming prices are also contributing to beef price increases.  Prices for imported lean beef rose by 4c/lb for the week.

 

In Asia, demand from both Korea and Japan is firm with prices increasing marginally each week recently. 

 

A potential ban of imported Offal items into Indonesia will be costly for NZ exporters with this sector of the trade estimated at over $10 million per year.
